Close friend and former roommate of the groom, Jake and Zach first met in the halls of Pope John XXIII Regional High School. After sharing classes throughout high school, they kept in touch through college, mostly over video games, including Fortnite and (unfortunately) league of legends.
Zach is the reason Jake wound up in Maryland at all - upon graduating, Zach half-jokingly offered up a room in a new house he'd be moving into with his friends, Jake gladly accepted, and here we all are now.
Now as a beloved best friend to both of us, and provider of board games we have asked Zach, who has a knack for giving speeches (and talking in general) to stand beside us and officiate our wedding alongside Aubrey.
Aubrey Young - Officiant
Dear Cousin of the Bride, Aubrey and Tori have easily continued their life long shenanigans into their adulthood, keeping those around them amused and on their toes. From a young age, Tori and Aubrey have been thick as thieves through both the good and the not-so-good parts of growing up together which strengthens their cousin telepathy even more -- like seriously, have you tried playing charades with these two? It's nearly impossible to win against them. Through college, jobs, friends, and the occasional slumber party, they have grown to spend wayyyy too much time together with Jake as their new +1. We love her dearly and we can not be happier to have her by our side for our big day to officiate our wedding alongside Zach.
Hannah Steiner - Maid of Honor
The knower of secrets, and certified shoulder to cry on of the Bride. Tori and Hannah met during a rough time in both of their lives, which led to a quick bond through morbid jokes and being an open ear for their newfound changes they faced together while navigating the wild world that is the government.
These two are the embodiments of the two elderly women you see having dinner together at an Olive Garden at 12:30 pm on a Tuesday in big fur coats that you gawk at thinking: "I hope I have a friend like that one day...". Now Tori's right hand man, and Jake's #1 fan, we cannot be happier to have her as our Maid of Honor.
Tom Perretta - Best Man
Another member of the Pope John crew and another of Jake's former roommates. After sharing the majority of high school classes with Jake and spending many nights gaming together with Zach, and Kevin. Tom went to college in Atlanta as well, and shared many hangouts with Jake on the streets of midtown. Jake spent one summer living with Tom in Emory University's off-campus cross country team house, which made for an exciting and "interesting" time.
Upon graduating, Tom moved to Arlington while Jake moved to Maryland and they found themselves just a metro ride away from continuing the shenanigans they'd shared over years of friendship. We're excited to let Tom showcase his commitment to parties and a good time as our Best Man!
Kevin Nam - Groomsman
Another member of the Pope John crew and a close friend to Jake through high school, college, and beyond, Kevin and Jake first met on the Pope John boy's freshman soccer team. After sharing classes together, most notably AP statistics under the tutelage of the (not so) famed Mister Bruce, Jake's bond with Kevin continued well beyond high school and when Jake moved to Maryland, Kevin was living just a metro ride away to liven up every function he came to.
Even though Kevin moved to Brooklyn a mere few months after Jake moved to Maryland, their friendship remains strong, especially thanks to Kevin's exceptional commitment to the friend group. Kevin continues to make multiple trips down by car and train to hang out, partaking in game nights, shenanigans out on the town, league of legends losses, and helping Jake prep for the wedding. We both love Kevin, and are thankful for the privilege of him join our wedding party as our Groomsman!
Luke Terrell - Man of Honor
Once roommate to the groom, and now close confidant to the bride. Luke and Tori met soon after Jake and Tori began dating and hit it off quite instantly through their shared interests. Through many nights of movies, and various hot pot and Korean bbq nights the pair grew closer and Luke quickly became one of the Bride’s favorite people. On the night the two first met, Tori walked up to Luke after a few drinks and wrapped her arm around his and explained “just so you know, I think you’re going to be my favorite!” and Luke just allowed this stranger to continue about her night not knowing he was now stuck with her. Luke now holds the title of “first person Tori finds to whisper to at a party” and “Beer Pong Partner even though they will most likely lose”. Luke has been a constant source of support, laughter, and loyalty and we are so happy to have him next to us on our special day as The Man of Honor.
